I've been on Lo Loestrin FE (a low dose pill) for 6 months now, and have a period twice a month. I know this is not normal, and I plan on making an appointment with my gyno soon to get a higher dose. My question is more out of curiosity than worry (because I am not yet sexually active). If I were to become sexually active, would this brand still protect me the same from pregnancy even with having my period twice a month?

HI animangachik,

Yes, it would. All birth control pills provide protection against pregnancy, and side effects from any pill, regardless of the hormone level in the pill, don't indicate a lack of effectiveness as a contraceptive.
