Hello! Lately I've noticed a stronger urine odor after urinating. Darker color, but no burning sensation. I've had a uti before and this doesn't feel like it. I'm planning on using a backup method of protection aside from my bc pills but I'm curious if this could be due to my pills or affect its effectiveness in any way?

Urinary changes shouldn't likely impact your BC pills.
Are you not hydrating enough, by any chance? We always need to do so more when it's hot -- and it's been really hot in a lot of areas for a while not -- and if we get dehydrated, our urine tends to be more concentrated, which can tend to make it have a stronger scent.

I think it's because I'm not drinking enough water, yes >< I rarely drink water although I'm always exercising and in the sun.
so I can count on my bc pilla being fully effective? I've learned that using a backup method can really help so if my bc pills are affected I'll use something else aside from condoms! Posts: 99 | Registered: Jan 2012

So, for sure, for your general health, time to up that water intake!
Like I said already, this should not have any impact on your BCPs.
