I was fooling around with a guy 2 weeks ago. He was on top of me but I was wearing a thong and he had tight boxers on. I can't tell if our genitals came into direct contact but I could feel him. We didn't hump or have penetration but our genitals were next to each other. I didn't take an EC because I was so sure that pregnancy wasn't possible. However, the day after that, I had a weird feeling in my vaginal area, and I had brown spotting, noticeable when I wiped myself. This stopped in a few days. I just started experiencing a higher than normal amount of clear vaginal discharge, and yesterday, I started having brown spotting again, with a little bit of discomfort. I am worried, I should be due for my period soon (last one started Dec 26), is this pregnancy or some type of STD/STI?

Thanks in advance!!

If there was any rubbing at all, even if you weren't intentionally humping each other, that could explain the strange feeling in your vaginal area. If there was any friction, itcould have caused irritation.

The key thing that you're saying here is that you're experiencing discharge that isn't normal for you.The sexual activity you engaged in doesn't have a risk for pregnancy and not much of a risk of STI transmission. (some STIs can be transmitted through skin-to-skin genital contact, but you said you're not sure if that happened or not.) So if you're experiencing something that is abnormal for you, regardless of what may have caused it, it's a good idea to get checked out by a health care professional. Do you have a regular doctor or gynecologist you can see if this persists?

I'm also giving you some reading material on vaginal discharge.

Thanks Robin for the fast response! I don't have a family doctor but I was thinking of going to a sexual health clinic. Do you think I should get a home pregnancy test? I am really worried that this is implantation bleeding and that these are signs of pregnancy :S

Implantation bleeding really is very rare - and I'm not seeing a pregnancy risk in what you described. If it'll help ease your mind you can take a test, but I would suggest checking in with that clinic you mentioned to see what's going on.

Hi again, so based on a 28 day cycle my period should have come on the 22nd... but it's now the 27th and still nothing. I don't keep tract of my cycles but I remembered the last time I got my period because it was on boxing day.

I'm worried, but I haven't been experiencing any breast tenderness, morning sickness. However, I do feel bloated... I stopped spotting as well. I am so confused..

Is it possible for a girl to sleep through sex? I do not remember having any intercourse that night, but could I have slept through it or something? :S
Or could his penis have slipped out from his boxer?

Are your cycles usually 28 days long? 28 is an average figure, our cycles tend to be more varied and individual than that. And you say you don't usually keep track of your period, so you have no way of knowing how long your cycles usually are. It's perfectly normal for a cycle to be more than 30 days long.

Since it's been more than 2 weeks since your risk, however, you don't need to guess: you can take a pregnancy test.

Did you ever get the unusual discharge checked out at that clinic?

I'd not worry about highly unlikely scenarios at this point, and just start with the straight-forward stuff. Take a pregnancy test, see a doctor if you still have odd discharge.

Thanks joey and everyone for the helpful responses, it is helping calm me down a lot, I am just really worried all the time..

I took a home pregnancy test this morning, it came out negative, but can I trust this result?

I also booked an appointment with the clinic, it's coming up this week.

Thanks again for all the help!!

If you want to verify the pregnancy test result, just take another one in a few days. Or, you can talk to the people at the clinic about it.

I'd say though that, considering that the activity described was not a pregnancy risk, and that it's been a while since that happened, you can be confident that your test result was accurate.
