This will probably sound like a pretty stupid question, but I'm pretty anxious about it. First of all I have never had sex, I worry too much about getting pregnant and I don't feel ready, that said I still worry about the silliest little things or imagine there might be traces of sperm everywhere and that they might get through my clothes and whatnot. Today I discovered a pair of jeans that belong to my brother in the place in which I keep my dirty clothes before washing, among them there was some underwear, the jeans were not clean -he had worn them just the day before- but I didn't notice any fluids or wetness in them, and they had been there for at least 2 or 3 hours until I noticed them. I washed my underwear and put them in the dryer machine. My worry is if there might be any sperm on the jeans and they somehow got to my underwear, could they die if I washed and dried the clothes? Can I assume they are safe for use after washing or can any sperm -if any- can survive a wash and dry cycle? I would really appreciate a response since I'm getting pretty anxious over this :/

This is absolutely not something you ever need to worry about.

Thanks for your response, I'm feeling a bit better now. I really need to get over my silly worries, and sometimes I think I might need counseling but I'm kinda ashamed, how could I ever explain I need help for worrying about things like these?

If you find yourself having pervasive fears about anything, despite information around it that should assuage them, then counseling is a good idea, and no matter the fear, it's nothing to feel shamed about. Counselors understand phobias, and fears around pregnancy when you don't want to become pregnant are often reasonable. It's no minor thing, after all.

However, if you're asking questions like this, my guess is a lot of this fear comes from not having the information to know better. So, why don't you invest some time in informing yourself well first, and see if that helps?
