My girlfriend noticed some brown spottings today(31st August) on her panties. She got her periods on the 19th August. It lasted for only 2 days(proper flow) and rest 3 days the flow was not good. We had no pregnancy risk. WHat can be the other reasons for brown spots other than pregnancy. Is it normal? Please reply soon as possible.

Spotting around the time of one's period is pretty normal. Remember that menstruating is not like turning a faucet on-and-off, where the water flow begins and ceases fairly abruptly. The body is not a clear pipe, it's got lots of nooks and crannies. So old blood can hang out for a few days and make its way out slowly as the flow trickles off. Also, the amount of fluid actually lost when one menstruates is pretty small (in relative terms, of course), just a few ounces. So one wouldn't expect heavy flow for more than a couple of days (on average) anyway.
In other words, this is a totally normal variation on a period.
