i'm on birth control, but the last month i didn't really care because my bf and i broke up. so i missed maybe 4 or 5 pills, and took a couple late too. so pretty much i'm not protected right now.

yesterday, was the last week for this cycle of pills, and i took the first placebo pill. i'll probably start my period tomorrow or the day after. yesterday... my x and i had unprotected sex. he pulled out at the end, but i wonder if that, and because its almost my period, is enough where i'm not very likely to get pregnant? and are the other pills i actually took any help still?

Once you've missed that many pills, you can't rely on the pill to be effective as birth control in that cycle you missed them.

So, if you do not wish to become pregnant, I'd suggest you go and get some emergency contraception today.

Too, I'd also be sure you schedule a full STI screening for anorund a month from now, since you also had risks of sexually transmitted infections.
