I had an abortion a little over a month ago, and got an OK to have sex from my gynecologist. I had unprotected sex again during my period and my boyfriend ejaculated in me twice. This was two days ago. Is there a need for emergency contraception if my period has been continuing as normal? There has been no aburpt stop. The flow has been pretty normal.

If you do not wish to become pregnant, I would highly recomend getting EC as soon as possible, even though you are on your period. You still have had high pregnancy risks, and even higher STI transmission risks.

Is there a reason you and your partner aren't using a reliable form of birth control, hon? Especially since you've been pregnant and had an abortion so recently already?

Ask your doctor when to start using it - she would know what applies to you specifically, especially because you had an abortion so recently.

Until you start taking the pills, you need to use condoms so that you don't get pregnant again.
