First off, thanks for reading. Something interesting happened with my pill schedule...for the first time, my period came a week before the placebo pills. I've scheduled an appt with my gyno and we'll see if I should switch to a different hormone level. I've been continuing to use the pill as usual. Two nights ago my boyfriend forgot to hold on to the condom while withdrawing after sex and it stayed inside for a bit, which worries me. Because I started my period early, should I consider my bc ineffective? Should I skip the placebo pills and go onto a new pack of pills tonight, or continue as I usually would?

I'm sorry we didn't get to your question sooner. While bleeding doesn't necessarily mean your pregnancy protection has been compromised, it does mean that until you get to your doctor you should act as though it were, and continue carefully using condoms when you have sex. Also, please keep taking your pills as scheduled unless your doctor tells you to do otherwise.
