i know this is probably not a big deal, but this is the first time it's ever happened to me so i'm freaking out over it. so, here goes. about three days ago, i noticed a little bump forming slightly above and to the left of my right nipple. i didn't think much of it, i thought maybe it was some sort of pimple or something, but over the past few days, it's gotten bigger. now it's almost the size of my nipple (not erect) and it's really tender, like a pimple. it's only a centimeter or two away from my nipple though, so i'm really worried.

could this be cancerous? have you ever heard of anything like this before? how long should i wait before seeking medical attention? am i going crazy for nothing? i would really really appreciate a quick reply (more than you know). thanks again and sorry to bother everyone, this is just driving me crazy. if it makes any difference, i just started my period again today, i'm 16, and otherwise healthy.

We're not doctors, so we can't take a guess at what this might be, and you need to see a doctor and get it checked out.

It could be an abcess of some kind, or it could be something else - either way, the only way you'll find out and get it treated is by seeing a doctor.

I know it must be scary, and I'm sorry we can't be more helpful.
