Just a quick question.... what causes breasts to become really tender about a week or two before a period arrives? I heard that if you take bc it helps... but I am on BC and it hasn't helped.

Generally, tender breasts are caused by fluid retention - your breast tissue will sometimes retain fluid before your period, this is why they may appear swollen and feel sore. It is also sometimes linked to hormone fluxuations during that time.
The birth control pill won't always have the same effects as these vary from person to person. Some people may find that the hormones in the pill decrease the tenderness that they feel, but some may not notice any difference at all. If you don't feel that the pill is doing what you want it to be doing, speak to your gyne/doctor, and they should be able to advise you whether changing your BC is an option.
