i have been sexually active for the past year but i have not had any form of vaginal, oral, or manual sex in over two months. However last week i noticed some bumps on the inner lips of my vagina. They aren't red, itchy, or irritating but i'd never noticed them before and now that i have i'm afraid they might be some STD. what are some probable causes of these bumps other than an STD?

Hi Sunchick,

as we can not diagnose anyone over the internet, the best advice I can give you is to have these bumps looked at by your doc (specifically mentioning that you are worried about them), and to have an STD screen.

Your inner labia are a little bumpy by default, it could well be that you just never noticed their texture before and that the "bumps" you are seeing are perfectly normal and ok.
However, small, skin-coloured, cauliflower like bumps could be genital warts caused by HPV, which is a common, easily transmitted STD.
In contrast to that, Herpes sores look fluid-filled.
FYI, some STDs, like Herpes and HPV, can take a good while after contraction until they actually show as warts or herpes sores.

In any way, only a doc can tell you what's happening there, so get yourself checked out.
