This might sound really dumb to some of you out there but when you are overwhelmed with the idea of not getting pregnant, everything freaks out.

I just wanted to know whether it is possible for sperm to live for 3 days or so on a bed sheet or blanket. I know someone answered this question in that sperm live only for 20 mins or so in a "FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT". BUt I wanted to know does semen dry up for sure within a day or two or a few hours cuz semen could mean a friendly environment? Or does the fact that the sperm and the semen are exposed to air and room temperature for lets say 48 hrs mean unfriendly environment? If someone had ejaculated on the bed or blanket and i came in contact with the blanket or bed or whatever say 3 days later--is it safe to assume that all the sperm had died?

Sorry if this sounded confusing.

No, that is absolutely not possible. Fret not.

Really, we mean it when we say about 20 minutes. It's all okay.

There also just isn't sperm everywhere. Each ejaculation is only a small amount, and it's not something guys are generally doing constantly. I mean, even if a guy did for some reason decide to smear semen everywhere he could, which wouldn't exactly be common, it wouldn't go very far.

Just to clarify, sperm can live much longer than 20 minutes in a "friendly environment". However, for sperm a "friendly environment" generally means "inside someone's body".

Outside of anyone's body, 20 minutes is the max .
