My friend told me that if a girl bleeds the first time she has sex then her period won't be coming during that month. Is this true? I know stress and other factors can cause a period to be late, but can a period actually be missed due to a girl losing her virginity? I had protected sex with my boyfriend last Monday and he never came at all, and the condom was intact for the brief 15 minutes. He stopped when he realized I was bleeding. I spotted for three days after that and my period is supposed to come sometime around this week. I know I can't be pregnant because nothing went inside me, but I'm worried my period will somehow either not come or be late (I'd rather it be the latter). Can someone please clear things up for me? Having sex for the first time and bleeding afterwards does not lead to your period being missed that same month? Or does it affect your period? Any help is greatly appreciated!

No. Bleeding during sexual activities has zip to do with the menstrual cycle. That bleeding is usually due to vaginal or vulval injury of some kind. Menstrual periods, on the other hand, are flow from the uterus, due to the shedding of the uterine lining that usually occurs around once a month due to hormonal signals sent to the body all month long, signals sex does not change or disrupt unless it results in a pregnancy.
