I have been having vaginal itching lately and i came across articles saying that aloe vera gel is good to soothe itchiness. The problem is, the only aloe vera gel i have is the 'fruit of the earth aloe vera gel' so i used it on my vagina. Then the next day i came across other articles saying that it contains carcinogenic ingredients such as triethanolamine, so i freaked out. I washed my vagina then but i'm pretty sure some of it came into the inner part of my vagina.
My questions are;
1) would i be at risk for any harmful disease, such as cancer if i had only used it once?
2) does it have any long term effect or washing it would just get rid of it?
Using it just once shouldn't be a problem. However if you have been feeling itchy for more than a day or so, then you'll want to be seen by a doctor. It is possible that you have an infection that needs treatment.
There is no need to use feminine wash - the vagina cleans itself. Feminine washes tend to just clean away the healthy bacteria, as well, which can lead to dryness or even infections.
