The past 4 days I've had a bad cold/flu with a fever. 2 days in I noticed a painful red bump near the opening of my vagina. I immediately thought herpes and went to the hospital the next day but a doctor looked at it and said it was nothing. Later that night I saw that it had gotten bigger and turned white. I went to the hospital again and the second person who examined me said she didn't think it was herpes but wasn't sure what it was. she thought maybe it was a regular cut or scratch that got infected, and gave me the name of an antibacterial cream to get (she also said that she didn't think my illness had anything to do with the sore). that put my mind at ease, but when I woke up this morning I had an even higher fever (102.6) and am worried all over again.

I also noticed reeaally tiny red bumps on my butt. i didn't think anything of it, they're not concentrated together, just scattered around, so i assumed it was dry skin or something and forgot to tell the second doctor.

i really just want reassurance that the people i saw at the hospital are right. i'm miserable and still freaking out.

I do not see any reason for you not to trust what two qualified health are providers, providers who examined you directly, have told you.

What did they tell you to do regarding a follow-up, including if your fever stayed high or rose? Whatever that was, that is the thing to do.
