I'm on birth control and wanted to reschedule my period due to an extremely hectic schedule happening and another one coming up. I took a full pack (3 weeks) of active pills and then started a new pack immediately, but only took the first two weeks (5 weeks of active polls total) before I decided to take this week off from active pills. Is this an okay thing to do? Or should I try to catch up on the final week of my second pack?

Safety-wise, we don't have any studies on menstrual suppression for people under 18, so that's a question mark. If you're over that age, there's been study so far of people doing this for a period of about two years that has found no health issues so far.

Per birth control effectiveness, you can never shorten the ACTIVE pill cycle and figure you'll have full effectiveness, so for those that do this, you can't do what you did: you should figure that for the next month (starting with when you took this week off), you need to use a backup method, until you are full one more full active cycle. Going back to the active pills you didn't take now won't fix that.

If there's ever a next time, what you need to do is complete the second active pack before taking a placebo week.
