Hi Scarleteen So a while ago, I gave my boyfriend a handjob, and wiped to go potty afterwards. I don't really think that creates any risk, also because I was on birth control, but anyways, (because my skool will kick me out if I am pregnant, I wanted to make sure early on, it is kind of a big deal) I took a pregnancy test at 3 weeks and it said negative. I was having some funky weird discharge at the time and days where I felt like I had to pee, so I went and did another one (cheap one) at 8 weeks. The test said "Wait 3 minutes after you pee to read" Well, I waited approximately something like 2:50 seconds, maybe a little longer, and the control line was really dark, negative, so I figured I was fine. Anyways, my question is: a.) does that 10 seconds make a difference if the control line was definitely colored in and it said negative...? b.) And also, would a cold make you pee a lot? Recently I have to pee a lot and some people say colds will do that to you (which I do have) so I was wondering if this could be the case. Thanks so much!

Well, you didn't do anything that could have caused a pregnancy in the first place, unless there's something else you haven't mentioned. In other words, there was no need to test in the first place (and one assumes a school with politics like that would probably make exceptions for immaculate conceptions ).
Your result came back, rather than not being invisible or iffy, so you can know the test worked fine.
With urinating, usually it's just about drinking more fluids than usual. But if it ever feels painful, your genitals feel funky to you, period, or like you have to pee a lot, but when you go, it's very little, then it's time to check in with a doc.

(Haha! Your comment about school made me crack up! But really, at my school they won't even allow kissing, so I'm doomed until graduation T.T) Ah okay, wonderful! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. Pee doesn't hurt, and discharge is normal, so I guess that's good Posts: 3 | Registered: Aug 2012
