So I never learned too much about the std HIV and I'm not sure what poses a risk for it. This is slightly bizarre..but I was sitting on my couch and covered myself in a blanket and it touched my mouth and I felt something just on the inside of my lip. I picked it up and grossly enough..it was a scab that I'm sure wasn't my own. If there was any open sore in my mouth does that pose an HIV risk? (if someone whom the scab came from had HIV). I know this is a crazy question - but I'm just curious if this kinds thing poses a risk. Thanks again guys.

The short answer is that HIV is transferred through body fluids.

So would that make my incident not a risk? Sorry I just don't know much on the subject.

Did you come into contact with someone's blood, semen, breast milk or vaginal secretions?

Well like I said, it was a scab from someone.

There's not a risk in what you described here.
