This probably isn't like the questions you are used to getting on here but here goes...

I was standing on a bar stool to try and get something out of the top of a closet and of course I lost my balance the stool tipped and I fell. I have a ginormous bruise across my bone just under my knee that was deep purple and now is turning yellow along with a nice size scrape that is scabbed. It was swollen and still hurts. I have been on birth control for 9 years should I be worried about blood clots?

I'm not sure I understand why you're asking? It sounds like you have the bruise you have not because of birth control, but because of your fall.

I know I have the bruise because I fell. But birth control is highly more likely to cause bad blood clots. So I didn't know if I should be concerned with that bad of a bruise, because birth control can cause blood clots. You know if one lets go it can kill you.

Do you have any of the health issues associated with blood clots and hormonal contraception? Like, are you a smoker? Any family history of blood clots? Are you overweight?

Birth control pills do indeed carry blood clots as a possible risk, but they are mostly associated with people already at a higher risk of them, like in those groups above.
