I was supposed to start my new pack yesterday evening as last week was my placebo week.. I completely forgot and just took it now. It's been 14 hours. What are the complications that come from this? Is it that bad to technically "miss" one pill, especially if it's the first of the pack? Or should I only worry if I accidently forget another pill? Some of my friends have told me you're in hot water if you miss the first pill of the pack though.. I've never missed one before completely (12+ hours) and I'm wondering what I should know..

Missing pills will often make BCPs less effective, yes. And that first pill is the most problematic one to miss.

But worrying isn't going to be of any use here. Instead, if you're using this as birth control just do yourself a favor and back up with a second method for the first week of this cycle, and you should be okay.
