Is it possible for the tampon string to irritate the vaginal opening? I got my period Friday night (I always use tampons during the day) and Sunday I realized I have significant pain in one spot of my vaginal opening. Could this have been caused my my tampon use?

Thanks so much!

Absolutely it would be possible for something like a tampon string to create irritation. You might want to try a different brand of tampon (to see if it's something in the string itself) or try tucking the string up so that it's not rubbing.

Thank you. I did not use a tampon today and most of the irritation went away [Smile]
