Hi, I'm on birth control and I took my last pill on Saturday morning. as of now (Wednesday evening) I haven't had any sort of bleeding at all but have had my usual symptoms, ie, sore breasts, bloating, etc. Now, I know I posted in the pregnancy boards very recently because I was worried (irrationally) about whether I was pregnant after having vaginal intercourse on April 23rd and then having my period on May 1st. I'm not worried about being pregnant as I took an HPT on Friday the 27th of May that came up negative. I'm more just worried about my hormones being out of whack or maybe having something worse going on, as this is the first time I have ever had any uterine cramps during a supposed-to-be period. Any help would be very appreciated.

Our bodies aren't always going to do exactly what we expect them to, and even on the pill a lot of factors can influence when our withdrawal bleed shows up and what it feels like. Hormones do fluctuate every so often, and being on hormonal birth control doesn't wipe out those fluctuations. Cramps are also very very common, even if you personally have not experienced them before, and unless they're severe, generally not anything to be concerned about.

In short, it doesn't sound like you have anything to be worried about here in terms of your health, but if you are concerned, there's never any harm in talking to your healthcare provider.

Hey, sorry to ask again, but my period/bleeding hasn't started yet (still) and I'm supposed to go back on my birth control tomorrow. Should I go back on and totally skip my period now?

If you're supposed to go on, then go ahead and go back on tomorrow as usual. You may skip, may have some spotting, or it may show yet. But take you pills regardless, as it'll help your body become accustomed to a schedule again.

Thank you for your help- I took my pill again and did get some slight spotting this morning. I hope my menstruation gets back on schedule soon.
