This might be a very silly question, but I would rather be safe than sorry!
I am in college, and this morning as I was getting ready in the dark, I put on what I THOUGHT was a pair of my underwear sitting on the floor next to my dresser (perhaps fell out while I was doing laundry or something.. I didn't really think twice about it). I got back from class and went to the bathroom and realized that the underwear I had put on in a rush was my roommates! Not mine! I got worried (and a little grossed out) and took a shower and washed 'down there' immediately. I am pretty sure my roommate does not have any STI's, and she hasn't had a boyfriend in over a month, but I was still wondering if there is the possibility that I could contract anything from wearing underwear that wasn't mine? Sorry if this sounds silly...

Were they unwashed?

If so, yes, but only if your roomie has any STIs (and those that could be transmitted like this) in the first place. Even then, it's a pretty small risk, save with something like pubic lice.

Not that I know of- and I wasn't sure if they were clean because I had put them on thinking that they were mine and had just come out of the laundry. I have just been assuming that they had already been worn to stay on the safe side. Any preventative measures I can take at this point?

Honestly, this really is unlikely to be anything to worry about, and nope, nothing to do at this point.

If you've been sexually active, even with condoms, you honestly have likely taken WAY bigger risks than this, so I'd not worry about it.
