I am 21 year old virgin.i have irregular periods where the time span varies from 30 to 60 days so everytime am not sure as to when can i expect my periods.so the thing i want to know is,is it ok even if i dont take any pill? Because i really cant tell when i will get my next periods.sometimes they come on time and sometimes even after 2 months.so is it necessary to take pill while doing intercourse??

Yes, it is still necessary to use contraception if you do not wish to become pregnant. Even if you are only menstruating irregularly, you ARE still menstruating and thus ovulating.

If your periods are this irregular, however, I'd also suggest that you make an appointment to see your doctor. While occasional late periods are not a big deal, having periods that are consistently this irregular is worth looking into.

But consulting a doctor will make my periods regular? I mean,irregular periods is something alarming??

Another thing, what may be the reasons for such irregular periods?

It's always a good idea to talk to a doctor about irregular periods. That doesn't mean that anything is wrong with you, but it is smart to err on the side of caution.

If there is an underlying cause for your irregular periods then, yes, it's likely that your doctor can recommend treatment options that will make your periods more regular.
