So I got my wisdom teeth pulled friday and have been on antibiotics since then.. I just realized I was starting to get a little itchy down there then today I woke up to sore/swollen clitoris and labias. I only have two antibiotics left.. will it go away once the antibiotics are done being taken? Or do I need to go to a doctor to get this treated??

If it is a yeast infection, it will need treatment - they don't tend to go away on their own - and even if it turns out not to be, itching and swelling should always be checked out by a healthcare provider. In future, eating plenty of plain yogurt without any added sugars or taking a probiotic supplement while you're on antibiotics can help prevent yeast infections.

(Hope your mouth heals up quickly, by the way! I remember getting my wisdom teeth pulled, it was NOT a fun experience.)

Yaaaa I'm pretty sure it is.. I got a little kit thing I'm about to use since I'm abotu to head to bed. Yesss I will, hopefully I don't have to use antibiotics anytime soon because I would LOVE to avoid this in the future. Haha! Thank you!!

I'm actually very lucky I had VERY little swelling! not too drastic of pain and hardly any blood after the first 2 hours. My dentist rocks haha!

If you haven't been diagnosed with a yeast infection before, it really is better to go see a doctor and have it diagnosed before treating it at home with an OTC yeast infection treatment. Trying the home remedies that Karybu noted are usually okay, but actually getting a yeast infection treatment and dosing yourself is not usually a good idea. The reason for this is that if you don't actually have a yeast infection right now and you treat it as one, then 1) whatever the problem was will still be there and 2) you can actually end up giving yourself a yeast infection with the treatment because of the imbalance it creates. So you want to get it checked out at least that first time to be sure that the diagnosis is correct.

As Karybu noted, in the future you can also make sure you're eating yogurt and/or taking probiotics when you take antibiotics in the future. You might make a mental note of the name of the antibiotic you are taking now and that it *seems* to have caused a yeast infection for you. If you find that this particular antibiotic (or type of antibiotics) tends to cause this reaction, your health care provider may want to prescribe an Rx yeast infection treatment anytime you get those antibiotics. It's a pill that you take which can, in addition to treating yeast infections, sometimes prevent them (or at least head them off before they get really bad) when you have to be on an antibiotic.
