Hi, havent been active around here for a while, but just wondering if you could hopefully put my mind at rest!

My boyfriend and I had sex last friday night and it was....well, a bit more vigorous than usual.....and afterwards I went to the bathroom and saw there was a little blood down there. It wasn't lots, kind of like what you'd see after you got a paper cut or something. It was still a bit there the next day, actually a little more than the previous night (but again, not like loads). I got worried though as I'm a huge hypochondriac and I was like, arrrgh cervical cancer!! So I went upstairs and had a look there using a mirror and one of the bits around the entrance of my vagina was like really quite red, and i touched it with a cotton bud and a bit of blood was on it. And I put a cotton bud sort of into my vagina just to sort of swab and see if there was blood inside, but i couldnt see any on it.

So, I'm pretty sure the blood was just from that external abrasion, as there was a tiny bit of blood there on the sunday morning too, but it seemed to have gone by sunday evening, and as it was quite "energetic" it was a little painful once or twice, and it hurt a little when I went to the bathroom (not like a UTI burn or anything, more like an external sting which makes me think there was a cut or something).

I dunno, I just wanted to know you guys' opinions. I get really really worried about medical stuff all the time and get myself into a state. I just want someone to tell me Im not dying [Frown]

Also I hope my post makes sense. If not just ask and I'll reword things.

Trippy, It sounds like you simply have some friction abrasions. It isn't anything to worry about, just keep the area clean. Should it get worse, then see a healthcare provider. I also suggest that you delay having intercourse until they heal and the next time the two of have intercourse, try some extra lube.

Thank you very much! Yeah I havent had sex since, Sunday was the day I moved to uni so I wont see my boyfriend for a while I said they seemed to be healed pretty soon after, and there doesnt seem to be any bruising. If it happens again or is noticeably vaginal bleeding I'll go to the doctor.

Thanks again, you've put my mind at rest [Smile]
