Hey,

I was just curious what I should do if a pill in my alesse 28 pack went missing. It is one of the hormone pills. My friend took my bag the other night and I don't really know what happened to it and everything was retrieved but I see one of the pink pills looks like it has fallen out of the pack. I'm unsure what to do because I don't want to screw up my pills but I also don't want to waste another perfectly good pack just to use one pill? What can I do about this?

I believe the pill was the 3rd week into the pack, I am still on the second. Do all the hormone pills have the same amount of hormones or do all the pills vary according to the day you take them? Because I was going to ask if I could just take all my pills and then not take one on the last day? Wouldn't this just extend the week that I would get my period? Or is this wrong to do?

You're going to have to "borrow" a pill from your next pack. If you shorten the active pill period, even by a day, then your BC will probably be less effective.

It can be helpful when using the pill to just keep an extra pack handy for situations like this. You can always ask your doctor per your prescription to leave room in the timing of your scrips so you can always have that one extra pack.

Sometimes, too, doctors will keep samples around of various meds, so you can always ask and see if they'll give you one pack free of charge.

Okay so basically I'll use my next pack as a spare then and I'll just have to go in a month early and ask for refills. He gives me 12 months at a time, I believe, so I'll be a month short.

So if I use the first pill of the next pack and add it onto the end of the pack I'm on now to make up for the one that went missing, I should be okay? There's no differences in the amount of hormones given? All of the hormone pills in the pack are basically the same right?

Yes, Alesse is a monophasic pill, so all the active pills have the same amount of hormones.
