I've been around the internet and I've found different kinds of answers to something I've been wondering about. Is it possible to have a period during pregnancy? There are a lot of women who say they experienced full periods throughout pregnancy, or normal periods through the first few months, etc. How common is this??

It is NOT possible to have a period and be pregnant. What a period consists of is the uterine lining that builds up over the course of your cycle in expectation of a possible pregnancy. When this pregnancy does not happen, the uterine lining is shed, and flushed out along with blood. Without that extra build up of uterine lining, there is no place for a fertilized egg to implant. Thus, having a period means that you are not pregnant, and it's NOT possible to experience a period during pregnancy.

However, there are other kinds of bleeding that can sometimes happen during a pregnancy, and that some women may potentially identify as a period. However, that bleeding is not a period, and it's also not likely to look exactly like a period.
