Hi

I'm on the combined pill, which I take properly every day at the same time and my boyfriend and I also use the withdrawal method as a second form of contraception. I know that this makes it very unlikely for me to become pregnant but every now and then I get paranoid so I like to keep some pregnancy tests handy just to instantly be able to check!

Unfortunately tests from the supermarket or chemist are very expensive if you're going to take them particularly often. I've been looking on the internet and I've found many sites which claim to sell pregnancy test strips in bulk (I think just the bit from the inside of the test) for only a few pounds for 10 or 20. Are they at all effective or is this just a scam?

Thanks!

Jenny

You know you can get a pregnancy test via the NHS for free, yes?

Want to toss me a couple of the links you're looking at? I'll take a look for you.

Wow I didn't know that about the NHS!

At the family planning clinic they never told me that pregnancy tests were available.

Would they mind me having a few or would they then assume I wasn't taking my pill properly?

These are some examples of the strips

You can also get them at the family planning clinic.

They will test you, though, in the clinics, not give you tests to take home. In other words, you can get tests done there, not be given tests to take with you.

And those links look on the up and up to me, looks like they're selling the kinds we use in clinics, which do tend to be sold in bulk.
