I have been on the pill for about seven months now, and have never missed or been late. Last Sunday morning, I started a new pack after a week of placebos. That night and the next day my boyfriend and I had sex. The first was with a condom, and the second was not, but he pulled out.
I just wondered about the effectiveness of the pill during the start of a new pack... I think I read somewhere on here that I'd still have the full protection even when starting the new pack that morning? Are there any times on the pill (placebo week, new pack etc) when protection is not as effective? I know when STARTING the pill you have to wait at least a week for it to become fully effective, but is it the same for EVERY month after that?
I don't think I have much of a reason to worry here, I just wanted to know. Thank you!

Once you have been on the pill for more than a month, you have full protection at all times (including the placebo week, and the first week of a new pack), provided you are taking the pill as directed.
