So last month I had a pregnancy scare. I didn't get pregnant or anything but i missed a whole bunch of pills and had unprotected sex.. I think I missed a total of about 4 pills that month.. I finally got my period and this month I have taken all my pills at 6 oclock... like on the dot. There has been a couple times where I have had unprotected sex again and I know it's within the first week after my period.. is that really bad or should i be covered because of my birth control? ALSO.. i can't seem to find anything anywhere about the effects of ativan on birth control pills.. does it effect it at all? I'm alittle worried, although i'm chronically paranoid. Thanks!

There is no effect on the birth control from ativan.
You may want to seriously look at your options for birth control, or even if you're ready to be sexually active.
That you were taken ativan makes me think you have a pre-existing anxiety issue anyway. Unprotected sex would make anyone anxious! Are you ready for the possible ramifications of unprotected sex?
If not, why do you keep having it? What is preventing you from taking the pill on time? Have you thought about using other methods of birth control (ie, patch, ring, shot)?
