I've wondered this for a while...if pre-ejaculate comes into contact with something like dark colored clothing, will it leave a mark? Is there any way to tell if pre-ejaculate has come into contact with clothing, aside from feeling it?

Like ejaculate, pre-ejaculate will often tend to stain, yes.
But pre-ejaculate being on clothing probably means no pregnancy risk existed: it's only a small amount of fluid (not likely enough to soak through layers of fabric), does not always even contain sperm, and if and when it does, for a pregnancy to occur, it'd need to be in direct contact with the female genitals.

Oh, thank you! I was just a little worried, because I was making out with my boyfriend last night...he was unclothed, and I had on jeans and underwear, but I had accidentally ripped a large hole in them earlier in the day, right at the crotch. I was lying on top of him, and I'm not sure where his penis was...I didn't see anything on the outside of my underwear, which is why I asked the original question, because I wasn't sure if pre-ejaculate stained or not (he didn't ejaculate during this time)

Generally, with dry sex where people have some clothes on, you really don't have to worry about pregnancy or STI risks. When you have to worry is when you start having direct, naked, genital-to-genital contact.

So even though, because of the large hole in my pants, I was essentially just wearing underwear (not lacy ones or anything like that), sperm most likely would not have gotten through?

Thank you for your advice. I'm kind of freaking out, though...I noticed, this morning, what looked to me like a tiny spot of brown blood on my underwear. Could this be implantation bleeding? Do you think that's likely, or is this spot from something else?
Thank you so much

This spot is almost definitely from something else. As other volunteers have pointed out, you really didn't have a viable risk.
I've noticed in your history that you've posted several times before about anxiety about pregnancy when it really isn't a possibility. Have you ever talked with someone in person about these worries?

I wish I could talk with someone in person about these worries...I'm not sure who I would talk to, though. I think part of the problem is that there are so many horror stories about how people supposedly get pregnant by fingering, through clothing, etc. It's just really hard to separate fact from fiction, especially when you're personally involved! My anxiety about the whole thing has gotten a bit better, though, I think.
Thank you for all your help, though. I really appreciate it.

Do you have a general or sexual health doctor you see and like? If so, that might be a great person to talk with in-person.

Yes, that is a good idea. Maybe I'll start there.
Thank you, though for all that you do...I know a lot of people would agree with me when I say that, without you guys, we wouldn't know where to turn to! Posts: 25 | From: somewhere | Registered: Dec 2008
