I take the generic frm of loestrin-microgestin. I thought I had another pack of microgestin to start on Sunday, but alas, I do not. I am leaving for vacation tomorrow morning and am on my placebo pills now, so there is no way I could get a pack of microgestin by 8AM tomorrow. I do, though, have a pack of loestrin that the gynocologist gave me when I first switched to microgestin. Would it be okay to use this just for this month? My mom says it is fine because the active ingredients are the exact same, but I just wanted to check to make sure. Thanks

The generic and brand name are interchangable because they are meant to have the same ingredients; to make sure, just check the label to make sure they have the same number of pills and same dosage, or make a quick call to your pharmacy to check. Enjoy your vacation!
