I was just wondering, because I cant remember what I was told at the family planning clinic:

during the placebo week of the pill, are you still protected? or does the protection stop for that week and then continue when you start taking the normal pills again?

Thanks

If you've been taking the pill at the same time every day and not missed any, then the you're fully protected all through your placebo week.

Joey - I don't want to start a new thread for this, but if you're on a four week pack of pills with the fourth week being placebo, the placebo is just used to make sure you keep the habit of taking the pill everyday, correct? Changing the time of your pill during the placebo week or skipping a pill by accident (I haven't done either of these, just fyi) wouldn't affect your protection, right?

Right you are!

The inactive pills are made out of either fillers or iron, depending on your brand, and they don't have to be taken. So, it's not an issue to take them at all, nevermind late. The 21 active pills work all 28 day to prevent pregnancy. [Smile]
