but the last time i had sex, when i had to pee afterwards i wiped myself down there and saw what appeared to be semen. it didn't smell like semen or my vaginal discharge, so i assumed that it was the lube we used.

i made sure to hold the base of the condom when i errrm took his penis out. (haha this sounds so awkward.)

i used astroglide, so was wondering if bubbles could form and cause me to confuse it for semen?

i used to be on the pill but i didn't like how sore it made my breasts... and well, i'm just not too enthusiastic about using another form of birth control. condoms are 97% effective when used correctly, right?

If you used the condom correctly and didn't experience a failure of any kind, then yes, they are 98% effective.

If that's the case, then I'd think the fluids you saw were likely your own vaginal fluids mixed with the lubricant.

When condoms break, it's pretty obvious- much like a popped balloon. So unless you guys ran into a problem, I'd say you're in the clear.

(And there are lots of people who aren't crazy about hormonal birth control! If you want, you could also double up condoms with something else such as a diaphragm for extra protection, too!)
