I got my period yesterday a week early but it doesn't have the same consistency as usual. It's very dark brown and flowing very slowly. I sometimes get this at the end of my period but usually when it starts, it's a bright red and flows very heavily. This brown stuff I've had since yesterday and it's been flowing at the same rate since then. Is there any explanation for this?

It's perfectly normal. Our periods don't always look and feel the same, there can be some variation there. Having a period where the blood's a bit darker from the start is nothing unusual.
