I've been on Levlen 28 for about 10,11 months now, which has been working great. I'd just like some answers to the general workings of BC.
If you stop taking the medication on Sat. and start your placebos that Sun, when does the medication in your system run out? Would I still have enough to prevent pregnancy or ovulation until I start a new pack? Basically, how long into your placebo week, do the drugs stay in your system?
Also, can the body get used to a certain type of birth control? Mine used to work on my emotional symptoms (PMS), but now it seems that even though I don't cramp up anymore, I still get depressed to the point where it interferes with my relationships. Could this be PMDD?

The hormones stay in your system during the whole placebo week, and after your first full cycle you have full protection during that week off hormones.
Some women experience changes in side effects with prolonged use of hormonal birth control; this is something that you should bring up with your doctor or gynecologist. It may simply mean that the type of pill you're on isn't best suited to you, for example.
