Well I went to the doc and found out I had trich again. (which is odd because I used a condom last time I had sex). But neway...other tests were negative. She gave me four 500mg Flagyl pills to take at once. I took them on Friday night. My pain during urination went away probably the second night. My questions are: how will i know if the medicine is working and how long does it take to get rid of trich? 2.) If my symptoms have stopped does it mean that the medicine is working and when is it safe to have sex?

Has your partner been tested and treated for this as well? If not, it is likely that you're just re-infecting each other.

The fact that your symptoms are gone doesn't really mean much, as many women don't have any symptoms of trich anyway. I would think your doctor would want to do a repeat test in a few weeks to find out of the antibiotics you were given were effective (though you should call your doctors office and confirm; and you can ask them these questions at that time as well)

You need to abstain from any sexual activity until you get a clear trich test. You need to abstain from any sexual activity with the partner who you suspect may have given you trich until s/he's been tested AND treated for it, and also received a clear trich test.
