Whenever I go to the gyno, they always ask me if I'm sexually active. I say no, but am wondering what exactly they mean by sexually active. This past visit a week ago, I said that I wasn't sexually active because I hadn't been in aprox. 4 months, and when I was sexually active, it was with another girl and there was a very low STI risk. But would I still be considered sexually active?

I guess the nubs of the question I'm asking are: how long ago would your activities have to take place in order to no longer be considered sexually active? And what activities are covered by that term?

amawesome - (adj.) a combination of 'amazing' and 'awesome,' usually by someone who has tied on a few too many. Ex: No, dude, listen! I like, luv ya man! I mean, you're like, amawesome!

Ultimately, when a doctor asks that, what they are asking is if a patient has had any possible pregnancy or STI risks.

So the best answer is usually just like what you said above. So, in your case, that'd be: "Not right now, but about 4 months ago, I had some same-sex sexual activity in which I may have had an STI risk."

But if you're in for your yearly, then ANY sexual activity (generally, manual, oral, vaginal and/or anal sex) since your last visit should be reported, and you should be getting your screenings, regardless.
