last week my boyfriend was having severe itching and burning on this penis, all around it, his scrotum and even his butt for a time. He got tested for cylamidia and gonnoreah and by friday he felt fine. We haven't got any tests back though except for hiv which was negative. The medicine they gave him to take for his symptoms was a one time thing, and it worked but now the symptoms are back. i'm worried it's herpes but wouldn't he also have sores or something like that by now? i still haven't had any symptoms of anything. any feedback is much appreciated.

Herpes doesn't tend to create itching.

Did his doctor also look for, perhaps, a simpler explanation, like jock itch? Or an allergic reaction to something like his laundry soap?

(Obviously, until you get to the bottom of this, if you don't already, you'll want to be sure to use latex barriers for sexual acontact. However, given how your partner is feeling, he may want to lay off sex, period. Sex with itching, burning genitals doesn't tend to feel very good, and it can make those symptoms even more uncomfortable.)

all the tests he took for hiv, clymidia, syphallis and gohnoreah (sp) were all negative. he's had the burning for 8 days now.. the first dose of antibiotics took the pain away for day 5 and 6. but it came back again. We haven't had sex or even seen eachother since this all started. (we go to different colleges) and he is going home tomorrow to be with his family and get more tests from his family doctor. I'm so scared it's herpes, his doctor at school said it's possible it could be something like prostate cancer or even an infection. But the only symptoms he has are burning and pain when he pees. what could this be pointing at? and what does it mean that i've had no symptoms out of the ordinary? is that a good or bad sign. i'm worried about him and i'm worried about both our health.
