I seem to have a lot of questions lately that are just out of curiosity (because I can mostly ask my mom anything about anything, but she hasn't been on the pill for like.. over 20 years so they are probably different now).

Is skipping placebo pills a bad idea? I'm on estrostep and the placebo pills are iron pills. Will it lessen the effectiveness of the active pills? Will it do anything? Thanks a bunch.

It's not a bad idea, and it's fine not to take them, and just take your seven days off without them.

But iron pills are going to help a good deal with cramping during the withdrawal bleed and other symptoms, so it might be helpful to you TO take them.

My doctor informed me that it is okay to skip the placebo pills and just go straight on to the next pack up to 3 packs in a row. That way you don't have to have your period for 3 months. This does however make your birth control last for shorter time periods and consequently making it more expensive.
