Last night I had sex for the first time in about a week because I was on my period. Here's the thing, it hurt to have sex. My vagina felt like it was really sore.. inside and around the opening. This has never happened before and I don't know what could have caused it. It's still a little bit siure today. Is this a symptom of some kind of disease or disorder? Or is it something I shouldn't even worry about?

Well, when was the last time you saw your gynecologist?

The thing is, it CAN be a signal of an infection, that kind of soreness. have you had any other symptoms? Any itching, any unusual discharge, any burning or trouble urinating, etc?

If so, then get in to see your GYN. if not, it's fine to wait a few days, though if you find you're still sore next week, or have any new symptms, march yourself in.
