a wet dream is one that causes sexual arousal. it's "wet' in the sense that sometimes it's accompanied by vaginal lubrication or ejaculation in ones sleep.

"Wet dreams" refer to nocturnal emissions. During sleep, the penis can uncrontrollably ejaculate fluids. Women can have wet dreams too. It's suspected that wet dreams are caused by fluctuating hormone levels during sleep, and wet dreams are perfectly normal.
