Okay, I asked this question on the 'Sexpert' forum, and so I hope this is aloud, but I just also wanted the opinion from someone more around my age (I think those people are adults?). Anyway, I just wanted to know if I should be going to see a gyno after getting my period. I've had it for a few years now, and I never realized I should be. I was just wondering what it's like for you teenagers. I'm really nervous, first of all about asking my mom, and second actually going. (I hope I'm aloud to ask this again) Do you have any advice, and what do you think about it? Were you really nervous and embarrassed?

What our sexpert Caro told you in AAS is pretty much what you'd have heard if you had asked in this forum to begin with anyway. It's a good idea to go when you begin menstruating. It's exactly the same for teens to go to the gyn as it is for adult women. We even have an article about what you should expect during your first gyn visit. Remember that your mom was once your age too, and she's a woman who also has to worry about her own reproductive health. She's been through the whole deal. Don't be embarassed, it's a necessary and natural thing.
