Well before I knew anything about the risks involved with having multiple partners, I was with 12 men. It was a wild time of my life, just like some kids have a drug problem or a shoplifting problem, I had a sex problem. It was actually finding out the risks involved that made me stop. It may sound funny that in this day and age I didn't know that using a condom could save your life but my school doesn't talk about that...or my parents...never had any friends to ask so I really didn't know.
I was tested for STDs and HIV last October and I have HPV. I know there's no "cure" for it but I've heard so many things about it like it ups your chances of cervical cancer! I have paps done every 3 months (this is what my gyno suggests for the next year, then every 6 months). What else can I do to keep all my reproductive organs healthy? There's nothing I can do about the number of partners now and I feel awful about it...like my health is out of control...please help.
Yep, the article pretty much reinforced what I already knew. It can cause cervical cancer which can cause infertility and condom don't completely prevent it. It is potentially fatal if you get cervical cancer...thanks for the article but it really didn't help my feelings over it.

Sweetie, please don't beat yourself up over this...really, HPV is a very, very common problem.
I used the handy-dandy search function, and found this great article on HPV - give it a read, as well as the other bits in the "Infection Section," and just give a holler if you have more questions:
