OK I know everyone is like omg this board has helped me so much and I just wanted to add to that.

OK here is my question. I am 13 and havent started my period yet. Is it ok to use tampons....just to expirament?

Absolutely not. You shouldn't use tampons if you dont have your period (not even to hamper heavy discharge), because you put yourself at risk of contracting TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome).

You're best to wait until you have your period, go to the shops and pick out a couple of different brands (slim ones for a light flow are best to start off with), and experiment then. And don't forget to check out our handy article, On The Rag
