This is really embarrasing but here goes: I woke up this morning, and everything was fine, but as the day progressed on the outside of my vagina (on the external part)it hurt more.....it feels like a bruise down there or something.......i had no sex or anything.....will this pass? What could be the cause of it?

unfortunately, you've given us a 8really* vague description to go on. It's impossible ot give a deifnitive diagnosis over the internet anyway. it could be a bruise caused by anything fron ill-fitting pants or unconfortable seatsor whatever have you. If I were you, I'd see if it went away first. but if still hurt after two days, a visit to your doctor is in order.
