Costs too much to get one of these any time soon but they sound cool, but I heard that if you cut the tubes that the sperm is still generated and if they can't get out the normal way, the immune system attacks them and makes 'sperm granulomas' which are like cysts that hurt.

It makes me wonder, is there a better kind of permanent birth control without this problem? Other than castration I mean, I don't think that's better, since having balls produce testosterone is desirable, artificial test would cost too much.

HI Tyciol,

No, it's not correct that sperm are attacked by the immune system after a vasectomy. All that happens is that the sperm can't get out, and they're eventually reabsorbed by the body.

Thousands, if not millions of people have had vasectomies, so I think it's safe to say that what you heard (where did you hear that, anyway) is some sort of urban legend.

Even though it's not available to you right now, if you want more information about vasectomies you could make an informational appointment with a doctor, if you have one.

I see that you are in Canada. You could also see if your provincial or territorial healthcare covers vasectomies. Know though that they're considered irreversible; that is, there is a procedure to reverse vasectomies but it is not guaranteed to work.
