i have come across the strangest thing. i am currently in the midst of my menstrual cycle (day 3 or 4) and i think my period just stopped coming outta me after sex yesterday! i am due to put my Nuvaring in tomorrow at 8am and I am not worried about a pregnancy risk but i am wondering if my period stopped coming out on to my pad because semen still may be flushing out of me? like, i can still stick my finger up there and have bright red blood appear but nothing is coming out...and moments before having sexual intercourse, i had to use a tampon AND a pad because it was heavy. did my period stop dead in its tracks or should i have nothing to worry about as there is still a bit of bood up there?

(also, i am unclear about day 1 of my period...i often expect it on a wednesday but it came around 11:30pm on wednesdy and was not even quite in full swing on thursday as the blood was very light and faint and got heavier on friday...and now it is saturday and nothing is coming out on to the pad again except some red blood when i check myself...bah! crazy periods...)

Sometimes during/after sex it can be normal for your bleeding to appear lighter or heavier than usual. Having sex won't stop your period though and it's not related to semen flushing out. It sounds like you're using Nuvaring correctly, in which case I wouldn't be concerned.
