Hi everyone! So I recently switched from Yaz to Alesse 28 because I was at a loss for sex drive and the cramps I started Yaz for was returning with vengeance on their minds.
I know that they are both combined pills, and that the only difference is that Alesse has lower progestin levels. I'm a Sunday start, so once I finished my Yaz and got my period on the Friday, I started my new Alesse pills that Sunday. I am borderline OCD regarding taking my pills on-time (5pm every day! ).
My question is this: is there a risk of pregnancy when switching pills?

Not if you don't take longer than a seven-day break, at the time the placebo period would have been from your last pill, between them.

With Yaz, it's only 3 placebo pills, so I'm assuming I'm in the clear. Thanks Heather! Posts: 11 | From: Canada | Registered: Mar 2010

So, you didn't take any more than that three-day break? Sounds like you didn't, in which case, yes, it's all good.

I guess its technically 4 days. I was off the pills Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. But I don't think a day will make a difference.

Actually, missing that very first pill in the pack is the worst pill to miss or take late.
So, since you were on a pill with only a three-day placebo break, I'd suggest backing up during the first week of this new pill with condoms since you didn't take your first pill when you normally would have started a pack.
